Troy Bolin, Acquisitions Director and co-owner of Bolin Enterprises, Inc, started thinking about a tiny home design a couple of years ago. It wasn’t until his middle daughter, Molly, signed up for HGTV’s Tiny Home Big Living, that his idea would become a reality.
The design of making a tiny home grow big, wasn’t based upon the fact that it had never been done before. The design was incorporated to enable Molly to live independently after being diagnosed with epilepsy.
With a budget of $30,000 and a 12-week deadline, Bolin drew up the blueprints and created his dream team to get the project done. First up was Troy Higgs, owner of Higgs Welding located in Dieterich, another small growing community in Central Illinois. “Troy went above and beyond throughout this entire process, even donating his time,” stated Troy Bolin. “Without his ingenuity to be able to read my blueprint design and trouble-shoot ideas back and forth, this tiny home probably would not have happened.”
Molly Bolin jumped in with lots of personal and unique details that she envisioned, even a retro pink Big Chill fridge. However, Troy Bolin praises his wife, Laura for all the interior decorating from choosing colors to installing flooring.
