Wabash Cannonball Bridge
Built in 1906 for the Big Four Railroad, the bridge is now a one lane toll bridge ($1). Turn on your headlights to alert oncoming traffic that you’re headed across. Don’t worry if the wooden planks clatter a little, because the view of the Wabash River through the steel framework is totally worth the drive.
Rugged terrain, walking trail
Artists are contacted by invitation to bring up to 3 pieces of art for a juried show taking place in June. In addition to the art show there will be an exhibit for junior artists and students as well as interactive projects and games. Live musical artists will perform throughout the day. Cheese trays will be sold to pair with wines and craft beers. Art & Wine on the Square will host up to 3 chosen Illinois wineries for tastings and sales to the public. There will be a presale of the art works and an Artist’s Reception Mixer on Friday. Lawrenceville’s restaurants will also make their wares available for patrons at this venue.
