Shoemaker School Museum
The City of Columbia has renovated historic Shoemaker School into a mulch-faceted facility that includes the Monroe County Welcome Center, the One Room School Commemorative Plaza and the Shoemaker School Museum, which partially recreates the building’s use in the mid-19th century. Wed.-Sat. 9a.m. – 4 p.m., Sun. 12:30p.m. – 4p.m.
Following years of experience as an actor and director in Los Angeles, MaryBeth Scherr-Babcock founded a non-profit organization on her commitment to develop strong acting talent in the Monroe County area.
Tucked away on 45 wooded acres, the natural serenity at this facility provides opportunities for study, reflection and renewal. Six conference rooms and sleeping for 100-120 are available.
