The Shoal Creek Conservation area on the southeast side of the lake has two easy hiking trails. The area is home to 700 species of plants, 70 species of butterflies and 70 species of breeding birds. Take a self-guided tour through native prairie lands and shoreline woods.

Inside, Historic artifacts of Litchfield including the city’s relationship to Route 66, are showcased. Mon.-Sat. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Sun. 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. November through March.
