The Marina is on the east side of Carlyle Lake adjacent to the Boulder Recreation Area. It has modern concrete docks, water and electric service, a gas dock and ship’s store, boat lifts, private ramp and more.
The largest man-made lake in Illinois (26,000 acres), Carlyle Lake is a premier location for outdoor sports. Well known to sailers, it is one of the best and most challenging for sailboats. There is also boating, fishing, hunting, bird watching, sand beaches and camping areas. Hotels, cabins and golf courses make the area a true outdoor lover’s playground.
Located in Eldon Hazlet State Park, the marina offers launching facilities, a clubhouse, and other amenities. Open to the Sailing Public, the association organizes several sailing regattas from May through October. The harbor accommodates more than 280 boats in ‘dry sail’ plus 100 beach cats. There are three electric hoists, two ramps,
and a 300-foot beach area. CSA offers club activities from May through October including a 25-weekend racing program, learn-to-sail programs for kids and adults, sailboat/kayak rentals, training programs, and numerous social events.
