Three to four shows are scheduled during the academic year. Local artists are the main focus in photography, painting, sculpture,textiles and quilts, as well as other visual arts.
Gaslight Art Colony is dedicated to broadening an appreciation of the arts by providing opportunities that promote awareness, participation, and understanding through fine arts exhibitions, classes and workshops. The gallery features individual artists monthly with showings of the artist’s work on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 6 – 9 p.m.
Two thousand original drawings, paintings and woodcuts by Roscoe Misselhorn, the Norman Rockwell of the Midwest, are displayed in the old GM&O depot. Much of the work is in black and white and depicts historic sites throughout the area.
This gallery and boutique gift shop is located in a 103 year old local landmark house and is an authorized dealer for world renowned artist, P. Buckley Moss. It’s the largest Moss dealer in Illinois and Missouri.
